Akasaka Sushi

Japanese food is something I'll probably never get tired of LOL. If you've been keeping up with my blog, you may have noticed that my dad and I eat sashimi/sushi on a weekly basis LOL. I mean, how can you not? It's quick, economical, and generally pretty healthy!!

So since we were spending a chill day at home, we decided to grab some lunch at the nearby Asakusa Sushi! Judging from the exterior, we were suspecting that this place might be Japanese run! But it's actually run by Koreans and they even have a ton of Korean dishes on their menu!
I was pretty impressed by how spacious it was inside! I wasn't expecting tatami rooms but they had over 10 + rooms for larger parties!! :D  Lunch is super affordable, combos start at $7, and bento boxs can be had for as little as $8.50!

Yayy, we even got our own teapot! :D

BC Combo w/ Tuna & Salmon Roll $8
BC Roll: 3.5/5 stars
Tuna: 3/5 stars
Salmon: 3.5/5 stars

I lovee bc rolls hehe, because I love eating the crispy salmon skin! This one was delish, the salmon tasted smoky, had a nice crunch, and it was drizzled with just the right amount of sweet teriyaki sauce to finish it all off! It also had a tiny bit of imitation crab meat in it!
The maki rolls were also pretty good! Both tasted really fresh and the rice was well seasoned and moist!

Sashimi Bento Box $12
3.5/5 stars
And of coursee, my dad ordered the sashimi bento box LOL! This one was great! The size of the bento box was alot smaller than other restuarants nearby, but the quality definitely made up for it! The sashimi slices were generous and really fresh! The tempura batter was well executed, exhibiting a nice crispy and light exterior! The salad was tangy and flavourful! The cali roll was pretty standard, nothing too exciting. For some reason the box also came with a side of potato salad haha.

Complimentary edameme! I really liked how they were unseasoned! :D

 Miso Soup
3/5 stars
My dad's combo also came with a side of miso soup! This was was solid, with ample miso flavour without being overly salty!
