Tractor Foods - New location!!

The weather was so nice yesterday!! So I spent the entire day exploring downtown with my mum, and we ate alot LOL (like always) We were supposed to be running errands but we got distracted by the beautiful weather...and somehow ended at Coal Harbour, and later at Tap&Barrel for dinner! :D

I haven't been eating a lot of veggies recently (terrible I know) so we decided to fill up on some wholesome food for lunch at the newly opened Tractor - near Coal Harbour!! This place was completely packed during lunch haha, with everyone in their office attire - while I was wearing a tshirt ;) No seriously, I was only person in there who wasn't "business casual" ahaha

Tractor runs like a cafeteria, you line up and tell the person behind the counter your order, and as you move down the line you can add extra dishes to your meal, like soup! It's better if you have your order mapped out in your head before you go line up because the line ups move really fast, and the people behind you will probably  get annoyed if you take too long to decide lol!

The salads here are so yummy - and fancy haha (truffle anyone?) If I had a place like this near by house, I would totally eat dinner here everyday - then I would be so much healthier ;)  The portion sizes are rather small - but hey, I guess that fits in with the whole "westcoast lifestyle" thing LOL. The prices are a bit steep  - but most of their food is local and organically grown!! :D

Tractor is pretty fancy for a cafeteria type place. The washrooms are so nice, and upscale looking LOL!

How pretty is this light fixture? :D

Butternut Squash Soup
4.5/5 stars
Wow - who knew healthy could taste so good?! LOL!! My mom was like "I could drink bowls of this stuff!!" It was super creamy, rich, and full of flavour!! The soup was really fragrant, and you could definitely taste the squash!! It was just the right balance of sweet - creamy- with a touch of herbs! The bread that came on the side was a bit dry and crumbly, but dipping it in the soup helped a bit.

Wild mushrooms, ditalini pasta, truffled ricotta cheese, fresh herbs

3.5/5 stars
My mom had this and she really enjoyed it! The pasta was cooked al dente, and there was no absence of flavours!! She couldn't really taste the truffle, but she could smell it!! The mushrooms were nice and earthy tasting, and the coat cheese complimented the flavours really well!

Roasted Cauliflower, chickpeas, radicchio, orzo, kalamata olive dressing $3.23

3.5/5 stars
This was really tasty!! This was an explosion of contrasting flavours and textures in my mouth hehe. The olive oil dressing was delectable!! The cauliflower and chickpeas were really fresh and crunchy, and there was plenty of radicchio!! I only wish that the size was larger lol!

I like taking photos of washrooms - can you tell? ;)
 - I really like their couch hehe
